What is a Thriller?A novel, play, or film with an exciting plot, typically involving crime or espionage.
What a Thriller consists of?
Thrillers have to be face pacing, frequent action, resourceful heroes, a villain driven plot and villains have to be better equipped. This is usually what makes a thriller. Thrillers also use devices suspense; something that keeps you thinking, Red herrings; decoys, Cliffhanger; to create suspense.
Thrillers also have a very flexible genre, thrillers often take place in exotic settings such as foreign cities." Hard man"; more realistic. Mystery stories are not the same as a thriller. Danger and violent confrontations are standard plot elements of a thriller. The climax of a mystery is when the mystery's solved, a thriller climaxes when the hero finally defeats the villain, saving their own life and often lives of others. If it 'thrills' its a 'thriller'.
Thriller Plots
Plots of thrillers involves a character which comes into conflict with others or with outside forces.
Tension usually rises when the main character is placed in a threatening situation, mystery, or a dangerous mission from which that escape seems impossible. Life itself is threatened, usually because the principal character is unsuspecting or unknowingly involved in a dangerous or potentially deadly situation.
There will be a lot of close ups and extreme close ups of the protagonist character, this is often to
show their emotions, also it can be used to focus on props to aid the narrative. The shots of the antagonistic character will be cut quickly and will aim to hide their identity, e.g. A shot of the back of them shot, the silhouette, or shadow of the character.hem, a low key shot.
